Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn against AC Milan in the Champions League last sixteen draw. The London club are making their first appearance in the competition this season and have taken to it like a duck to water, having topped Group A. Harry Redknapp's side defeated AC Milan's big rivals Inter during the group stages and won't hold any fear when they travel to the Giusseppe Meazza on February 15th.
Milan could only manage a runners-up spot in their group stage, finishing behind Real Madrid in Group G and only ammassing eight points during the campaign. The Italian side are no strangers to the latter stages of the Champions League however, having won the competition three times in its current guise.
Spurs are missing Gareth Bale who didn't travel with the squad out to Italy and there will be late fitness checks on Rafael Van Der Vaart, Peter Crouch and Luka Modric. Milan have players missing also, with Marco Van Bommel and Cassano cup-tied and Andres Pirlo missing through injury.
The teams have met once in European competition before, where Spurs came out top in a UEFA Cup semi final back in 1972. Milan are on a bad run against English clubs since winning the Champions League in 2007, losing out to Arsenal and Manchester United during this time, as well as drawing with Portsmouth in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup.
