Champions League Booking Betting
There are a number of booking related betting opportunities on Champions League matches, a lot of which that are also available to bet on live in-running with various bookmakers. The most common bookings based bet is to bet on the total cards during a match. The cards are given points and then a line is made by the bookmaker for you to bet over/under or equal to that line.
Other booking related markets include betting on what the time of the first booking will be or who will be the first player to be booked. Always check out who the Champions League referee will be before placing your booking bets, as some may be more lenient than others. It's also wise to check the form of the teams and whether there is any history between the two clubs. Finally, check who is playing in the squad and how likely those players are to get booked or not.
Total Cards Betting
Total cards betting or booking points is derived from a line the bookmaker draws up on the match. Each card is awarded points:
- A yellow card is 10 points
- A red card is 25 points
A typical line a bookmaker might take is:
- 20 points or under
- Between 21 and 40 points
- Over 40 points
The bookmaker will apply odds to those three options and it is up to you to decide from your research which is the most likely to happen. If you only think there'll be a couple of bookings at most you'd go for under 20 points, if you think the match will be riddled with cards and sending offs then you'd go for over 40 points.
