Sevilla qualified for the 2009/10 Champions League courtesy of finishing third in La Liga last season and this is only their second time making it past the group stages of the competition. Sevilla were grouped together with Rangers, Stuttgart and Romanian champions Unirea Urziceni and comfotably came through Group G unscathed with a couple of matches to play. Although relatively inexperienced at this level the team from southern Spain have an array of attacking talent that always make them a danger to the opposition.
Sevilla bowed out of the Champions League at the last sixteen stage versus CSKA Moscow, who went through 3-2 on aggregate.

Much is made of Sevilla's forward prowess and it's no surprise. In Luis Fabiano they have one of Europe's best strikers who is also the number one choice to lead the line for Brazil. Abely supported by the likes of Freddie Kanoute and Alvaro Negredo goals aren't hard to come by.

As well as the forward talent Sevilla have two of the French World Cup squad forming a central defensive partnership with Sebastien Squillaci and Julien Escude. Spanish pair Jesus Navas and Diego Capel supply the ammunition for the strikers whilst former Spurs midfielder Didier Zokora holds things together nicely in the middle.
