2nd Leg 10th March - Old Trafford

Manchester - Old Trafford Score
Man Utd 4-0 AC Milan
Rooney 13, 46 (1-0)
Park 59, Fletcher 88

Manchester United look home and hosed before this second leg tie and the bookmakers certainly thought so, as they were odds on to qualify. A brace from Wayne Rooney and goals from Ji-Sung Park and Darren Fletcher helped inflict a 4-0 defeat on a disappointing Milan side, to progress to the quarter-finals as 7-2 aggregate winners. Milan did have their chances early on in the match but defended poorly throughout and once Rooney made it 2-0 shortly after half-time the writing was most definitely on the wall for the Italians. As a result, Manchester United are stand out second favourites to win the Champions League for the third time.

1st Leg - Milan - Tuesday 16th Feb 2010

San Siro - Giuseppe Meazza Score
AC Milan 2-3 Manchester United
Ronaldinho 3 (1-1) Scholes 36
Seedorf 85 Rooney 66, 74

Manchester United traveled to Italy to play AC Milan in the Champions League last sixteen on Tuesday night and came away with a deserved one goal leade to take back to Old Trafford. AC Milan took the lead in the third minute with a goal from Ronaldinho and the early pressure from the hosts could have easily resulted in more goals. United weathered the storm however and snatched an equaliser just before half time with Paul Scholes bundling the ball home after a good move. United started the second half much stronger and Wayne Rooney always looked a threat going forward. Man Utd's dominance paid off with a Rooney double in the space of eight minutes. This two legged tie looked dead an buried at this point but a late goal from Clarence Seedorf lead to some nervy final moments for the away team. Michael Carrick was dismissed for two yellow cards in the final minute but United will be the happier of the two teams and are now big favourites with the bookmakers to progress to the quarter-finals.
