Bayern Munich will be hoping for some more success in the Champions League after some less than convincing performances in recent years. They did reach the Champions League quarter-final last season however were thrashed out of sight by eventual winners Barcelona. Bayern Munich qualified for this season's Champions League by finishing second in the Bundesliga last year. They have been handed a tough draw in the group stages as only two of Bayern Munich, Juventus and French champions Bordeaux will be able to progress into the knockout stages.
There is a definite Dutch feel to Bayern with the signing of Arjen Robben in the Summer and what with them being captained by Mark Van Bommel. With Franck Ribery working the other flank the German team have a good shape to them and with German internationals Philipp Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger they're a strong looking outfit.
