Since their last Champions League meeting, Atletico had failed to win any of seven matches against Barcelona in all competitions (drawn one, lost six) - that run was extended to eight when Barca beat Atleti 2-1 in the first leg of thie tie but Atletico turned the tie on its head when they progressed with a 2-0 win on home soil.
