Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League final on Tuesday after beating Real Madrid on aggregate, despite losing 2-0 on the night at the Bernabeu. Bayern Munich join them at Wembley as they beat Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night.

The Champions League draw for the semi-finals was made on Friday, with Bayern Munich drawing Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund taking on Real Madrid, the pair having played earlier in the group stage of the competition.
Played by the top football teams in Europe, the Champions League is seen as the ultimate prize in European club football. Formally known as the European Cup, where the champions of each individual European league went head to head in a knockout cup competition. The competition evolved in the 1992/93 season when it became the Champions League.
